Art reception on August 27th Saturday 6:00pm – 8:30 pm
EBK Gallery [small works].
218 Pearl St.
Hartford, CT
During the month of July and August, Artist Lindsey Fyfe will be creating paintings on three canvases in the gallery. We welcome you too stop by and check in on progress at 218 Pearl Street as these pieces are created. Occasional emails of gallery photos of this project will be sent out as these pieces evolve to finished works. When they are completed these paintings will be available (along with the documentation of their creation) to purchase.
“A painting’s potential for immediate change is a liberating agent: I am concerned with gestures that feel necessary in a given moment, rather than the final image. A build-up of truthful marks guides me to conclusion. Despite any and all research informing the works, intuition is the most important element of my artist practice. I am stirred by travel and new landscapes, and the key structural elements in my paintings reference the natural world: weather patterns, tectonic shifts, fields in bloom. I intentionally paint ‘big’ so that I feel overwhelmed by my own paintings, much as I do at the first step of a mountain I wish to ascend.” -L.W.F.
Also…during this time Lindsey is continuing to create pieces from the “Happy Adventure Series”.
These are very small abstract studies and are real gems! They are the originals, very available (at least for now), and very affordable…as in, very.
