“Gravity doesn’t exist in a world ruled by poetry. I am not a poet. I mostly stumble with words, but when I draw lines on paper and add color I feel as if I have become one. These drawings are a stream of consciousness. They function as dreams. They sort out and make note of unrelated ideas and objects. At times they are translated into the physical, as sculptures and objects, but are mostly ideas. In a way they are the root of all further work, though some of it may show up years later.” – C.H.
