The artists whose works will be presented as the main show – on city lights and LED displays – were also asked the question What has real value? Can money buy everything? One of these works will be “Onuce” (Footwraps) by Adam Niklewicz. This is the artist’s comment on his work: “I remember newspapers wrapped around our feet (before putting on top-boots) during harsh winters of my childhood. Paper footwraps gave extra protection from the cold. These footwraps are made out of The Wall Street Journal (a symbol of capitalism). Nevertheless, the newspaper does not serve human rapacity here. It merely serves the basic human need to chase away the cold. So, what is the value of The Wall Street Journal? Does this value lie in the information it conveys or in physical properties of paper?”
